On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, Breakthrough T1D New England held its 19th Annual Spring Research Briefing, featuring Dr. George L. King, M.D. It was our true pleasure to provide a deeper insight into one of our most promising Breakthrough T1D funded projects. We learned from Julia Greenstein, Ph.D., Breakthrough T1D’s Vice President of Research Strategy, about Breakthrough T1D’s research portfolio, and from Dr. George King about the exciting discoveries taking place through his comprehensive work leading the Joslin 50 Year Medalist Study, such as the identification of potential protective factors that are helping to prevent and treat diabetic eye and kidney diseases.
