Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Grand Opening Benefits Breakthrough T1D

The internationally acclaimed home furnishings company Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams held a grand opening event for their new store in Tysons Galleria on June 12th in honor of their 25th anniversary. The Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter was selected as the store’s event charity. The opening took place from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and guests were treated to delicious food, live music and a short program. Chapter staff and dedicated volunteers were on hand to talk with guests about Breakthrough T1D and T1D and Executive Director, Piper Dankworth Sutton spoke to attendees about the mission of Breakthrough T1D, progress that has been made in Type 1 diabetes research, and the impact Breakthrough T1D and its donors have had in making the progress possible. Chapter Youth ambassador Michael Sevilla also shared with guests his T1D story and his incredible involvement in Breakthrough T1D events. Over $11,000 was raised for Breakthrough T1D through a silent auction, including two shopping sprees donated by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, a raffle and a generous company donation of $5,000 presented by Mitchell Gold.
