Anna Hill, the Breakthrough T1D Children’s Congress delegate from the Greater Blue Ridge Chapter met with Congressman Bob Goodlatte in D.C. on Wednesday, July 15th to share her experiences being a type 1 diabetic.
“I learned a great deal about the challenges they face each day (including not getting to eat as many cupcakes as they’d like!), and appreciate their visit.” -Congressman Goodlatte
Delegates to Breakthrough T1D’s 2015 Children’s Congress enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tell Members of Congress what it’s like to live with type 1 diabetes (T1D)—and why funding for research is so important. They serve as a voice for the millions of children and adults who must live with the burden of T1D every day until a cure is found. This passionate group of advocates inspires us all.
