Breakthrough T1D Greater Chesapeake and Potomac is excited to welcome the newest members of our Board of Directors!
Our board members are vital to the success of our chapter, and we’re happy to have these wonderful new additions to our team!
DC BOARD
Khristine Agnello – Khristine is an attorney with the Federal Government. She has had T1D for over 25 years, and has volunteered with our Chapter for many years. Khristine is the Chair of the DC YLC (Young Leadership Committee) where she has helped to raise funds and awareness for Breakthrough T1D.
Amy Eisner – Amy is a Marketing and Small Business Consultant whose 11 year old son, Matt, was diagnosed in October 2015. Amy and her family jumped right in to the Breakthrough T1D Family and raised over $20,000 for the 2016 DC Walk. Amy has extensive experience with non-profits and social media fundraising.
Jon Futrell – Jon is a Principal Sales Technologist with Raytheon and has been a longtime volunteer for Breakthrough T1D. Jon lives with T1D and been active with the Gala and Walk for many years.
Mark Minich, Jr. – Mark works in Commercial Real Estate with Transwestern and his family has been involved with Breakthrough T1D since he was diagnosed with T1D in 2002. Mark formerly worked for Sanofi Diabetes. He and his family have actively volunteered with our Chapter for over 10 years, most notably in leadership roles with the Real Estate Games, Gala, and Golf Tournament which his father, Mark (former Board Member), served as the 2016 Chair.
Paul Ryan – Paul is a Deputy Chief Council for Clark Construction. He and his wife Amy, who has T1D and is an attorney with Arnold & Porter, have been active with our Chapter for years through the Outreach Program, Gala and Real Estate Games. Notably, Amy, worked on (pro-bono) the IP for the Artificial Pancreas Program in the mid-2000’s and wrote a book entitled, Shot, about being diagnosed with T1D as an adult.
Anita Simmons – Anita is the VP of HR & Organizational Development at AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators). Anita’s teenage son, Alex, and her brother both have T1D. Anita and her family have volunteered with Breakthrough T1D for over 10 years, including the Breakthrough T1D Walk for the last five years raising almost $60,000. In 2016, Anita was the Family Team Chair for the Walk.
Nancy Weber-Czekanski – Nancy works as a stay at home mom, and has volunteered with Breakthrough T1D since 2006, after her son, John, was diagnosed with T1D. Nancy and her family have raised over $75,000 for the Northern VA Walk over the past 10 years. She and her husband, Paul, attend the Gala every year and have secure 1 -2 additional table sponsors each year.
MD BOARD
Lyndall Hauver – Lyndall works as a stay at home mom, and has been very active with Breakthrough T1D for the past seven years since her son, Will, was diagnosed. Will sadly passed away in 2015 at 22 years old from complications of T1D and the Flu. Lyndall and her family have raised over 100k honoring Will’s legacy. Lyndall was the 2015 MD Gala Star of Hope.
Allison Weir – Allison is Organization Effectiveness Manager and Talent Management Lead at Northrop Grumman and is a former Breakthrough T1D employee from the Fairfield County Chapter. Her husband, Ryan, was diagnosed with T1D in 2013, after his family had been Breakthrough T1D supporters for over 20 years, without a direct familial connection. Allison has been a very active volunteer with the Ride and Gala, and most recently accepted the role of Chair of the Baltimore YLC (Young Leadership Committee), which she launched in Spring of 2016.
