The Lincoln Junior Stars and Omaha Junior Lancers Hockey Teams raised $3,250 for Breakthrough T1D to fund research to help end Type 1 diabetes.

Both teams have players and family members who have Type 1 Diabetes, which is caused when a person’s own body attacks their pancreas and shuts down the body’s ability to create insulin, a hormone that is essential to digest carbohydrates. People with Type 1 require human-made insulin to live healthy lives.

Donations were taken at both games in February and both teams sold t-shirts.  This is the first year for this Annual Event.  Thank you to the Lincoln Junior Stars and Omaha Junior Lancers for raising awareness and funds for T1D research.  You are making a difference in your T1D teammates lives and others that live with T1D!
