This year, for the first time, The Breakthrough T1D Tampa Bay office hosted two Galas within a week of each other making for a busy time in the office! A lot of hours in a fast seven days plus Hurricane Irma tried to smother our efforts but with the help of our wonderful Gala committees, our fantastic donors and most certainly our generous volunteers we rose to the occasion! Both the Sarasota CUREibean Dreams Event and the Tampa Night of Hope Gala raised over $800,000.
A fun and festive CUREibbean Dreams Event in Sarasota at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall was attended by nearly 90 guests this year. We want to thank our presenting Sponsor Hendrick Honda for their support this year, with their help and yours we raised $117,000!
The Night of Hope Gala with a Roaring Towards A Cure theme this year was held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside. An elegant evening that saw many of our 250 plus guests dress in their Great Gatsby attire raised over $700,000! A huge thank you to our honorees the Wanek family and the chairs of the gala Dan Howat and Elise Batsel whose efforts helped us surpass our goal this year!
