Volunteer Victoria Seitz and Intern Sophia Livolsi represented Breakthrough T1D as interviewers for the Dallas Mayor’s Intern Fellows Program. Begun in 2008, this program “prepares motivated students to become the leaders of tomorrow.” Mayor Rawlings spoke at the Job Fair and said there were about 1000 students interviewing for 400 positions. Prior to the interviews, those students had already gone through an application process to qualify from a larger group of several thousand. Breakthrough T1D’s table was also included in the segment about the event on Fox News that evening. Breakthrough T1D looks forward to having one of these amazing students as an intern this summer.
