Are you ready to challenge yourself and make a meaningful impact in the fight against type 1 diabetes (T1D)? Breakthrough T1D offers two exhilarating opportunities in 2025 to push your limits and support groundbreaking research: the Breakthrough T1D Ride program and the Run for a Reason Charity Program at the Pittsburgh Marathon.

Breakthrough T1D Ride 2025 Season

The Breakthrough T1D Ride isn’t just about cycling—it’s a movement committed to turning miles into meaningful progress. No matter where you live or how you ride, you’ll be part of a powerful community that’s riding toward cures.

Check out this year’s stunning ride locations:

  • La Crosse, Wisconsin (Aug 7–10): Cruise along the Mississippi River through three states—perfect for beginners and families.
  • Santa Fe, New Mexico (Aug 21–24): Take in high desert views and dramatic mountain backdrops.
  • Cape Cod, Massachusetts (Sept 11–14): Ride through picturesque coastal towns and salty seaside roads.
  • Coeur d’Alene, Idaho (Sept 25–28): Surrounded by lakes and forests—choose between 20 and 100 miles.
  • Amelia Island, Florida (Dec 4–7): Soak in ocean breezes on scenic, flat roads under moss-draped oaks.
  • My Ride (Anytime, Anywhere): Prefer to do your own thing? No problem—ride solo, indoors, or locally with no fundraising minimum.

Run for a Reason – Pittsburgh Marathon

Turn your miles into impact through the Run for a Reason Charity Program at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon! Whether you’re tackling a 5K, relay, half, or full marathon, you can run on behalf of Breakthrough T1D and help move us closer to cures.

Since 2009, charity runners have raised over $17 million through this incredible program—and we’d love to welcome you to Team Breakthrough T1D! Charity runners will receive their own fundraising webpage to tell their story, share with friends and family, and collect donations in honor of their loved one living with T1D.

Let’s go the distance—for a world without type 1 diabetes!
