Four-time Olympian, number one cross-country skier in the United States, reigning national champion and type one diabetic Kris Freeman and award-winning journalist, Breakthrough T1D International Board of Directors, Students With Diabetes Founder and Miss America 1999, Nicole Johnson, DrPH, MPH, MA shared their experiences with type one diabetes with Kam Carman on FOX 2 News (Detroit). Freeman and Johnson spoke in support of Breakthrough T1D’s 7th Annual Diabetes Today and Tomorrow Conference and Exhibits — Living with Diabetes: A Family Day of Inspiration, Hope, and Education, the single largest event of its kind in the country where they also delivered inspiring speeches about their diagnoses.
