“My name is Will Bliss, and I’m a Type 3 Diabetic!”
in General
At our June 24th Annual Meeting, Will Bliss donated a check of $200 to Breakthrough T1D. Will recently had his Bar Mitzvah and promised that 10% of the money he received would go to Breakthrough T1D.
Will describes himself as a Type 3 Diabetic (someone who watches out for a Type 1 or 2 Diabetic). As a Type 3, with a father with T1D, he has an intimate understanding of the struggles associated with living with T1D. See what Will said below:
“Hello, my name is Will Bliss, and I am a Type 3 Diabetic! That is a member of a family, or someone who watches out for a Type 1 or 2 Diabetic, because we love and care for them. My Type 1 is my Dad, David Bliss.
I had the opportunity to go to Washington DC with my parents on Advocacy Day and and speak to Senators and Congressmen about funding for Diabetes research. That was a great experience.
Last week, I completed my Bar Mitzvah at Temple Emanuel, and as part of my commitment to give back to others, I promised to give 10 percent of the money I received from family and friends to a worthy cause. I cannot think of a better cause than finding a cure for Diabetes.
Therefore, I am donating this check for $200 to the Greater Blue Ridge Chapter of Breakthrough T1D.”
Thanks Will for joining us in turning Type One into Type None!
